Jacob Rees was a British architect from South Wales. He was an apprentice at Hill’s Engineering Works until 1863. For the next couple of years, he worked as a draughtsman for various firms. From 1872-97 he was an engineer for the Ocean Coal Company with its headquarter in Treorchy, and then he set up his own studio in Pentre, both in Rhondda Valley. For 52 years, he was the responsible architect for the Rhondda Education Committee.
