Biography

Austrian alpine skier Edi Mall participated in the 1948 St. Moritz Winter Olympics in all three events. His best result was the unfortunate fourth place in the alpine combined. In the slalom he was 11th, and 19th in the downhill. He was born and grew up in the well-known ski resort of St. Anton am Arlberg. He started skiing at an early age and it became a big part of his life.

Mall was Austrian Champion in 1947 and won the Hahnenkamm downhill race at Kitzbühel the following year. In 1950, he placed seventh in the downhill at the World Championships. Mall later owned an apartment hotel in the Arlberg region in St. Anton.
