Katsundo Kosaka was a Japanese painter in the traditional style. After finishing vocational school, he joined the Japanese Painting Department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. After his graduation under mentor Somei Yuki, Kosaka participated regularly in the Emperor’s and Bunten Exhibitions, and his rustic style of painting became very popular. In 1948 he was one of the founders of the Japanese Painting Federation (Nihonga Renmei) in Toyoma and dedicated himself to the promotion of art in his home province.
