Naotake Yamamoto studied at a Western painting school and his works tended towards abstraction. After the War he took on Ranson as his first name. His favorite topics became deep prayer, human love, and the desire for peace. However, he also painted people, cats, still lifes and landscapes, and also combined painting and poetry.
