Agnes Canta was a graphic artist, lithographer, painter and bookbinder. She studied at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Rotterdam. Her subjects were mainly landscapes, still lives, animals and cartoons. Canta also designed posters and billboards. For the health department in Amsterdam, she created decorative murals. Canta then increasingly turned to expressionism.
