Zbigniew Czech participated in the 1928 Olympics as a substitute for the Polish national rowing team but did not start. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1936, and after World War II taught architecture at the Polish University College in London. He later emigrated to Australia.
From 1951 Czech worked as an architect for the Commonwealth Department of Works in Australia and was responsible for, among other things, the Melbourne Airport. He remained connected to the Polish tradition and founded the POLONEZ singing and dancing ensemble. Nothing is known about his artistic career as a graphic artist. He produced the poster Runner, submitted in 1932, together with his fellow rower Jerzy Skolimowski.
