Konrad Srzednicki died only a few months before his 99th birthday. He studied at the School of Painting and Drawing in Warszawa under Władysław Skoczylas and later taught in Kraków at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was mainly a printmaker (lithographs, wood, metal, and printing techniques) as well as a painter of landscapes and still lifes in Poland. His compositions, mainly in metal technology, were quite varied. Srzednicki often created idyllic, mystical scenes, often based on myths from the Mediterranean and the cultural heritage of the ancient world. Before World War II, he was a member of the “Ryt” association of graphic artists and, after the war, of the “Group of 9 Graphic Artists”. In 1966, he was awarded the prize of the “First International Graphic Biennial” in Krakow. In 1932 Srzednicki submitted Wind and in 1936 the painting Yacht, both lithographs. Srzednicki was the owner of the sailing yacht “Dziwożona”.
