Egon Plefka worked at the German Technical University at Brno teaching figurative drawing.
In the late 1930s, the building of the Za Lužánkami Stadium was planned as a new major stadium for the Moravian metropolis Brno. The project submitted by Karel Martinek, Plefka, Rudolf Procházka and Hans Ruda is probably this facility. In 1938, the work was stopped due to a lack of funds and was not resumed because of the collapse of Czechoslovakia. The stadium complex with an ice and swimming stadium was eventually built from 1949.
