Bulgarian sculptor Kiril Shivarov was known for sculpting the figures of Evlogi Georgiev and Khristo Georgiev at Sofia University, the founders of the University. He also decorated the buildings at the Varna University of Economics, the Sofia Metropolitan Library, the Court House, and designed the lion at the Shipka National Memorial. Having completed his studies in Praha and Wien (Vienna), Shivarov is considered among the most interesting early 20th century Bulgarian artists. First, he created numerous works for his hometown of Varna. Since 1928 he lived in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. After his death he fell into oblivion. From the catalog and his entered work, it cannot be clarified whether Shivarov participated in the art genres of sculpture or painting, but he was only known as a sculptor.
