Max Ehinger was a Swiss sports journalist and sports historian, who was active in England, Germany, Italy and Algeria. After his active sports career as a football player and track athlete he started his journalistic career with the Basler Nachrichten in 1930, heading the sports edition until 1944.
In 1944, Ehinger became chief editor of the Sport-Toto_Zeitung, a position he held until 1974. Ehinger was also president of the Swiss Association of Sports Journalists from 1950-56, and then became General Secretary of the Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive (AIPS). He published several sports books. In Julius Wagner’s book of the 1948 Olympics in London he contributed the report about the football tournament.
