Born in the part of the Hungarian Kingdom which is now part of Serbia, Miklós Nagy represented the Kassai Atlétikai Club (KAC) from the now Slovakian town of Košice. He mostly competed in long jump and high jump and occasionally as a sprinter. In 1911, he won his only medal at the Hungarian Championships, a bronze in the high jump. In 1912, he was entered for the long and high jump at the Stockholm Olympics but did not start. In 1913, he transferred to the MAC in the capital city Budapest.
Nagy married Vilma Snyir in 1915; they had two sons one daughter. After his promotion he worked as a secretary for the Imperial and Royal Kassa-Oderberg Railway.
