Váradi was a member of BEAC until 1920 and then joined MTK. He claimed no less than 19 titles at the Hungarian Championships: individually over 3 miles (1910, 1912, 1914), 15 km (1912, 1920-22), cross-country (1911), 5,000 m (1920-1921) and in relay or team events in cross-country team (1911-13, 1923-24), 5,000 m team (1922-23), 5 x 1,500 m (1919) and 4 x 1,500 m (1920) relays. Although he placed third in the 5,000 m of the Hungarian trials in 1924, he was not selected for the Hungarian Olympic team.
Váradi obtained a doctorate, though the field of study is unknown. Born of Jewish descent under the name Weisshaus, he was a victim of the Holocaust, but the circumstances of his death are unknown.
