At the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Tor Österlund was entered for the 400 m run but did not start. Four years later, he won the Swedish championship in the 4 x 400 m relay with the team of his club Fredrikshofs IF. The team also set various national records in this event between 1913 and 1916.
