Biography

German half-middleweight judoka Florian Wanner was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the pool stage at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Four years later at Athens, he finished in joint seventh place. In 2003, Wanner had his greatest year after winning the gold medal at the World Championships, and a bronze at the Europeans. In 1999 and 2003 he won the German national title. By profession, he became a graduated economist.
