Bruno Graf joined the Leichathletik-Club Zürich (LCZ) in the 1950s, starring as a junior athlete. He won seven Swiss junior titles in that era. Graf was primarily a weight thrower but also competed in the high jump. He set three Swiss records in the shot put, starting with 15.19 set in Melbourne, Australia in 1959, and leaving the record at 16.22, set in 1962. Entered in the 1960 Olympic shot put, he did not compete at Roma.
