Biography

French tennis player Nathalie Dechy competed professionally from 1995 to 2009, winning three Grand Slam doubles titles during her career. A doubles specialist, Dechy was ranked eighth in the world in May 2007, as well as #11 in the world in January 2006 in the singles. She won two doubles titles at the US Open; the first in 2006 with Vera Zvonaryova, followed by her second title a year later with Dinara Safina. Also in 2007 Dechy won the mixed doubles title at the French Open with Andy Ram. The pair then reached the mixed doubles final at the 2009 Australian Open but lost in straight sets. Dechy competed in the singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and both the singles and doubles at the 2004 Athina Olympics.
