Wynne Prakusya was an Indonesian tennis player who played professionally from 1998 to 2007. Prakusya achieved a career-best singles ranking of #74 in the world in August 2002 and a doubles ranking of #24 in the world in February 2003. She had a prolific record at international sporting events, winning more than a dozen medals at the SEA Games, along with multiple medals at the Asian Games.
As a junior Prakusya won multiple singles and doubles titles on the ITF Circuit, in addition to finishing as the runner-up in the singles at the 1998 Australian Open. As a professional she won nine singles and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. From 1996 to 2005 she was also a mainstay in Indonesia’s Fed Cup team, helping the side to return to the World Group in 2004. Her best Grand Slam performance came in the mixed doubles at the 2003 Australian Open, reaching the quarter-finals with South Africa’s David Adams.
Prakusya had an impressive record at the SEA Games where she won 17 medals during her career, including 11 gold. Her first golds came in Jakarta in 1997 with wins in both the doubles and team event, before repeating this result at the Games in 1999, 2001, and 2005. At the 2003 Games she won gold in the doubles and mixed doubles, along with gold in the singles in 2005. Prakusya also won three medals at the Asian Games with bronze in the team event in 1998, followed by a team gold and silver in the doubles in 2002. In 2000 she played in the singles and doubles at the Sydney Olympics, before playing in the doubles at the Athina Games four years later.
