Biography

John-Laffnie de Jager was a South African tennis player who played professionally from 1992 to 2003. De Jager was a doubles specialist who achieved a career-best ranking of #11 in the world in July 2000. Prior to turning professional he won the junior doubles title at the 1991 US Open with Moroccan Karim Alami. On the ATP circuit he often played with compatriot David Adams, with the pair winning four titles together. De Jager was a two-time runner-up in the mixed doubles at Grand Slam events, reaching the finals at the 1995 French Open and the 1997 Australian Open. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics he once again played with David Adams and finished fourth.
