German triathlete Andreas Raelert came 12th and 6th and at the 2000 Sydney and the 2004 Athina Olympics. He was specialized at the Ironman distance and won Ironman events in 2008 at Arizona in the US, in 2010 at Frankfurt am Main, in 2011 at Roth in Germany, and in 2013 at Klagenfurt (Austria). In 2014, he finished third at the Canada Ironman. At the Hawai’i Ironman, Raelert placed second in 2020, 2012, and 2015, and was third in 2009 and 2011.
Raelert won the European Championships in the middle-distance event in 2012. From 2009-11 he was named Triathlete of the Year in Germany. Raelert’s brother Michael was also a world-class triathlete. Andreas and Michael were managed by his wife Julia since 2012. Andreas Raelert studied business administration.
