Lodovico Migliore, better known by his nickname Ico, was an Italian architect, designer, academic, former ice hockey player, and sports executive. Migliore graduated in architecture from the Torino Polytechnic and began working at the Milano Polytechnic where he developed his skills. As a sportsman, Migliore started playing ice hockey in Torino. Subsequently, in the top national division, he wore the Valpellice shirt, and then played three seasons in Bolzano and a further three in Varese. In 1985 he moved to Milano where he wore the Milano Saima shirt from 1986, and was captain until 1990. Migliore played in the top flight with the jerseys of HC Bolzano (1978-1980 and 1982-83), HC Valpellice (1981-82), Mastini Varese (1983-86), and HC Milano Saima (1988-90), in addition to two seasons in Serie B, with Milano Saima (1986-88). Migliore won two league titles, both with Bolzano, in 1979 and 1983.
Migliore played with the Italian national team for many years, making his début with a goal in an 8-3 defeat in a friendly against Switzerland B at Lugano in 1978. He went on to play at the Sarajevo Olympics and four World Championships (one in group A, 1983, and three in group B, 1985-87). He was awarded the bronze medal for sporting valour by the Italian National Olympic Committee.
As a manager with the Milano Vipers, Migliore won five consecutive league titles, three Italian Cups, and three Italian Super Cups, as well as a silver medal at the Continental Cup in 2002. In 1997 he founded the Migliore & Servetto Architects studio in Milano with Mara Servetto, specialising in museum projects, temporary installations, interior and urban design, and communication projects. They won numerous prizes and awards worldwide.
