Renato Mocellini won a silver medal at the 1956 Olympic Winter Games in the four-man bob of Eugenio Monti. At the World Championships he won a gold medal in the four-man bob in 1963 and a bronze medal in 1958, both steered by Sergio Zardini. His only achievement at the National Championships was a second place in the 1955 four-man bob.
