Austrian Sepp, Bother of Hans and Edi Mössmer, was a physical ice hockey player and a shutdown blueliner. He participated in the 1968 Grenoble Olympics, where his team was eliminated in the group stage. In total, Sepp represented the national team 13 times in international matches.
Domestically, Mössmer played with Innsbrucker EV, Kitzbüheler EC, HC Salzburg, EHC, and VEU Feldkirch. After his active career he turned to coaching.
