Biography

After attending Takada Junior High School, Minori Nagata studied at the Waseda University. In 1924, he was runner-up to Takeo Yazawa in the Japanese 4 km cross-country Championships. He continued competing during his time at university, being one of the skiers of the so-called “Golden Age of Waseda”. For the 1928 Winter Olympics he was he was initially considered a substitute, but when Gentaro Okamura suddenly died in 1927, he became a full member of the team.
