Biography

Austrian ice hockey defender Günther Oberhuber played with Austria at the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. The team was eliminated in the group stage and placed eighth as second in the consolation round. Oberhuber won 12 international caps, scoring one goal and three assists.

Domestically he played with Innsbrucker EV (later renamed to ECS Innsbruck) from 1971-87. Oberhuber was professionally also active as an avalanche sprinkler on the Seegrube in the winter months and as a lifeguard in the Tivoli in the summer.
