Biography

Former decathlete Fritz Ohlwärter turned to bobsleigh in 1971 and won four silvers and one bronze at the World Championships. In 1973 he had his greatest moment, winning the European title in the four-man. He won three West German titles. In 1976, Ohlwärter came in fifth both in the two-man and the four-man at the Innsbruck Winter Games. He worked as a steel construction fitter.
