Jan Peka had a very long career as a goaltender for Bohemia prior to World War I, and for Czechoslovakia after the war, playing from 1910-35. In the war he served in Serbia and Albania and was a prisoner-of-war in Greece for several years. In Bohemia he started his club career with Studentského HS Karlin in 1910 but moved to SK Slavia Praha in 1912. He played for ČKD Praha from 1923-27 and with LTC Praha from 1927-35. Internationally he represented Bohemia at the 1913 European Championships, and Czechoslovakia at the Europeans in 1925-27, 1929, and 1932, winning gold medals in 1925 and 1929 and a silver medal in 1926. Peka played at the World Championships in 1930-31 and 1933-35, winning a bronze medal in 1933. He was capped 76 times for Bohemia and Czechoslovakia.
