Håkan Pettersson played his entire career in the red and white shirt of Timrå IK. In 451 matches for the club, he scored 193 goals and amassed 406 points, usually playing together with his brother Stefan, who also enjoyed a long career at Timrå. During his stay, the team never won the championship, but placed second once.
Pettersson was elected to play for the Swedish national team on 65 times, including at four World Championships, 1971-1975. The “Three Crowns” won a bronze medal every time). Petterson was also active at the 1972 Olympics, where the Swedes missed the podium and placed fourth. Pettersson later also had a brief spell as a hockey coach, of course also for Timrå.
