Four years after his appearance at the bobsleigh event in 1928 in St. Moritz, Horia Roman was a substitute on the Romanian team at Lake Placid in 1932. During World War II, he was a general in the Romanian Army commanding an anti-aircraft division. Roman retired from the military in 1947.
