Biography
Skater Heinz Sames participated in all four speed skating events at the 1936 Garmisch Winter Olympics. His best result was finishing 13th place in the 5km. From 1934-37 Sames was runner-up at the German Championships, and in 1938 finished third. He also participated in the 1935 World Championships. He went missing-in-action in 1943 at Volgograd during World War II.
Personal Bests: 500 – 45.4 (1935); 1500 – 2:26.6 (1936); 5000 – 8:45.5 (1936); 10000 – 18:04.3 (1936).
