Biography

East German figure skater Hermann Schulz finished 11th in the men’s singles event at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. He also participated in the 1979 World Championships (12th), the 1980 World Championships (10th), the 1975 European Championships (8th), the 1979 European Championships (7th), the 1980 European Championships (5th), and the 1981 European Championships (4th).

In 1981 Schulz won his only national title in the East German men’s singles event. He later became an international referee, working at the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. He also became an internal medicine physician.
