Biography

Slovenian sportsman Štefan Seme excelled in both water polo and ice hockey and competed internationally in the latter. In domestic ice hockey Seme represented HDD Olimpija in Ljubljana, winning the Yugoslav championship on four occasions during the 1970s (1972, 1974–76). In 1972 he was part of Yugoslavia’s squad at the Sapporo Olympics, playing in two matches during the consolation round of the tournament. He made 14 appearances for Yugoslavia during his international career, scoring one goal and one assist. After his playing career Seme became a coach, including leading the Yugoslav team at the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. In 2007 he was inducted into the Slovenian Hockey Hall of Fame.
