Jack Henderson was a Glasgow Post Office engineer, and was a Post Office swimming champion. He was also was a Scottish canoe champion, and took part in the kayak doubles with John Simmons at the 1948 London Olympics, finishing last of seven in their first heat. The following year, Henderson and Simmons won the British Open K-2 Championship, when Simmons won five titles at the Championships that year. In 1951, Henderson was in charge of coaching for the Scottish Canoe Association, but relinquished the post less than two years later.
