Giuseppe Soravia was an Italian bobsled pilot who won a bronze medal in the two-man bobsleigh at the 1979 Italian Championships. The following year, at 32, he competed at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, again in the two-man bobsleigh, paired with Georg Werth, and finishing 16th overall. He was the oldest Italian athlete at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
At the end of the same year, Soravia had an accident in a four-man sled while training in Igls, which caused a double fracture of his skull. He was the only member of the team injured when the sled plunged headlong into a barrier at full speed. Soravia was rendered unconscious and died the next day at the Innsbruck University hospital.
