Biography

Josef Sterff was a member of the four-man bob Germany 1 at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics which placed fifth. He won two West German titles in the four-man with his home club SV Ohlstadt (1962 and 1963). He also won three medals at the World Championships in the four-man with one medal of each color – gold in 1962, silver in 1958, and bronze in 1959. By profession, Sterff was a butcher.
