Sulzbacher then partnered Günther Lemmerer and won the overall world cup in the doubles from 1980-82. Both also placed ninth at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. In 1982 the pair crowned their careers by winning the European Championships. At the Austrian nationals, Sulzbacher won doubles titles in 1977 (with Schmid), and in 1980 and 1982 (with Lemmerer).
