Biography

In 1941 Tamás Székely was a student at the Werbőczy high school where he won the KISOK skiing championship in both downhill and slalom. In 1942, as a competitor of the BEAC, he finished second in slalom at the college championship. Unfortunately, the Second World War interrupted his sports career, which was going well. In 1948 he participated at the St. Moritz Olympics as a competitor of the MAFC, where he competed in all three events. He finished 35th in slalom and alpine combined, and 52nd in the downhill. After the Olympics, he left Hungary and settled in Switzerland, where he continued to compete. He died relatively young in an avalanche accident.
