Biography
East German cross-country skier Helmut Unger finished a disappointing 37th in the 30 km event at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics, and did not start in the 50 km event. Unger earned his only East German national title in 1967 with the SC Dynamo Klingenthal relay team. His wife Anna competed in both the 1968 and 1972 Winter Olympics. Both later divorced.
