Klaus-Uwe Will was an East German flatwater canoeist who finished sixth with the K4-1,000 meters squad at the 1968 Mexico Olympics. Two years later, he won a K4-1,000 silver medal at the World Championships. He won his first East German national title, in K1-500 metres, in 1968, and added a second two years later when he won the K1-1,000 metres title. By profession, Will was a trained carpenter but, after his active career, he studied sports science at the DHfK Leipzig and became a graduated sports teacher. He also worked as a part-time canoeing coach.
