Biography

Hans Wallner was an Austrian ski jumper who participated in the 1976 Innsbruck and 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. At Innsbruck he placed sixth in the normal hill event, and in 1984 was 24th in both the normal and large hill competitions. Wallner belonged to the Austrian “Wonder Team” under coach Baldur Preiml for more than 15 years and won the team silver at the 1982 World Championships.

Wallner later turned to coaching and coached the Italian national team. Even before he had finished his active ski jumping career, he had discovered a new passion for model flying. As early as 1983 he began building his first model aircraft and became a successful flyer. By profession, he worked with the Villach Regional Hospital.
