Biography

Cross-country skier Helmut Weidlich from Klingenthal in East Germany competed at the 1960 Squaw Valley and the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. He finished 21st in 1960 in the 30 km race, and was 36th in the 15 km event in 1964, also placing seventh with the 4x10 km relay at Innsbruck. In 1964 and 1965 he won 15 km national titles, also winning the 30 km in 1963 and 1964, and the 50 km in 1966. Weidlich won relay titles in 1960-64 and 1966-67 with his home club SC Dynamo Klingenthal.
