Biography

In the late 1920s and early 1930s Ernesto Zardini competed in Nordic combined skiing and ski jumping. At the Italian championships Zardini won silver and bronze in ski jumping in 1925 and 1927, respectively, followed by gold in the Nordic combined in 1930. He competed in both events at the 1932 Lake Placid Olympics, with his best result coming in the Nordic combined where he finished 12th. Zardini was only 26-years-old when he died at home in October 1934.
