Biography

Polish cross-country skier Kazimierz Zelek represented AZS Zakopane from 1952 to 1972. In 1959 Zelek won silver at the national championships in the 4 x 10 kilometres relay, before winning gold in the event in 1962, along with an individual gold in the 15 kilometres. In 1960 he competed at the Squaw Valley Olympics, finishing sixth in the 4 × 10 kilometres relay. He had more success in the relay at the Winter Universiade, winning bronze in the 4 × 8 kilometres in both 1962 and 1964.
