Biography

German whitewater canoeist Rüdiger Hübbers participated in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, when canoe slalom became a permanent fixture in the Olympic program after its first appearance in 1972. He partnered Udo Raumann in the Canadian doubles and they finished 14th. The pair had their greatest moments in winning the gold medal at the 1996 European Championships and the bronze medal at the Worlds the following year.

Hübbers and Raumann also won two national titles in 1992 and 1994. By profession, Hübbers became a physiotherapist as a therapeutic manager.
