Alpine skier Monika Bergmann-Schmuderer represented Germany at three Olympic Winter Games from 1998 at Nagano to 2006 at Torino. She had her best result in 2002, placing sixth in the slalom. Bergmann-Schmuderer’s greatest moment came in 2005 when she won the World Championships with the German team. She retired in 2009.
Bergmann-Schmuderer studied and graduated as a Bachelor of Arts in International Management. She also engaged in communal politics and became major of her hometown Blaibach in 2022.
