Biography

Austrian snowboarder Ursula Fingerlos placed fifth in the giant slalom at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. She then became a silver medallist at the 2003 World Championships in the snowboardcross event. In 1998 and 1999, Fingerlos won the overall Snowboardcross World Cup. In those same two years, and in 2003, she finished third in the overall World Cup. In total, she won ten career World Cup races.

In 2004, Fingerlos married US-American snowboarder Dan Smith and moved to the United States. She then worked in an ophthalmologist’s office. In 1998, she was awarded the Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria.
