Biography

Sandra Farmand was a German snowboarder who finished ninth at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics in giant slalom. She also retired after the first qualification round in halfpipe. At the World Championships she won three golds (1995 and 1997) and one bronze (1999) medal. In 2000, she won the snowboardcross World Cup. She also won four European Championships.

Farmand also won two national titles in 2001. She was a pioneer of snowboarding in Germany, and later became the fiancé of non-Olympian biathlete Andreas Fischer. By profession, she became a team manager in process management at a German bank company.
