Chris van Eeden was a member of the West German K-4 flatwater canoe that finished ninth at the 1976 Montréal Summer Games. Van Eeden’s foot spar broke during the final, and therefore they finished last. Domestically, he won the West German national titles in both the K-2 1,000 and K-4 1000 (1976-78). He was a member of VfK Dreisbach in Saarland.
