Medical Code

The Olympic Movement Medical Code, first published by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Medical Commission in 1995, is to β€œto ensure that sport is practiced without danger to the health of the athletes and with respect for fair play and sports ethics.” The latest version of the document, dating from 1 October 2009, is intended for use by the IOC, the International Federations and National Olympic Committees, and describes the relation between athletes and medical personnel, and health related rules during competition and training.
