Established in 2026 after the IOC set up a series of Olympic qualifying events, the Olympic Qualifier Series Working Group had three main objectives: 1) shape the future direction of the Olympic Qualifier Series, identifying the key factors critical to its long-term success; 2) define a sustainable business model, guaranteeing long-term commercial viability and potential scalability of the Series; and 3) review the overall approach to qualifying events for the Olympic Games to maximize the impact for the IFs, the NOCs, and the event organizers. The initial chair of the working group was Octavian Morariu with seven other members.
