Badminton at the 1972 Summer Olympics

Badminton would become an Olympic medal sport in 1992 but it was held as a demonstration sport for the only time at the 1972 München Olympics. There were men’s and women’s events in singles and a men’s and mixed doubles event. The fields were small, but the competition was high-level with most of the world’s top players competing. The events were held at the Volleyballhalle in the Olympiapark in München.
